Strong words by John McKissick, UN refugee agency, on situation for the Rohingya. While Myanmar government has denied atrocities committed by the army and security forces, McKissick says to BBC News that security forces have been "killing men, shooting them, slaughtering children, raping women, burning and looting houses, forcing these people to cross the river" into Bangladesh.

Burmese Rohingya Organisation UK has recorded following estimates of abuses committed between 9th October to 20th November:

Deaths: 428 Rohingya
Rape: 192 Rohingya women
Arrest: 440
Missing people: 120
Reports of beatings and physical violence: 160
Burnt down houses and buildings: 1780
IDPs: At least 35,000

BROUK released a press release today calling for urgent action from the international community to press the Myanmar government to lift all restrictions on humanitarian in Rakhine State. After 9th October aid access has almost been entirely cut off. BROUK says they fear more people will die of starvation than from military bullets.
